Seville with toddlers and kids
Sevilla can be a lot of fun for kids and toddlers. There are plenty of places to have a family visit.
There are Playgrounds for toddlers in several areas.
Playgrounds in Central Sevilla
– There two small playgrouds “good for a play break” In the Plaza de la Alfalfa and in Jardines de Murillo.
– Besides their playground, Parque de Maria Luísa also offers four person bicycles and its a nice green area to hang next to Plaza de España.
– Alameda de Hercules is a big open mostly walking avenue with shops, restaurants and bars on the sides with a playground at the north end. The surrounding area is also interesting to visit, specially el Mercado de la Calle Feria (Second hand Thursdays).
– The river bank further north the bus station area is also pleasant to walk with kids or even rent a bike to ride along many pieces of graffiti and street art on the side. The very far north is connected to another park, Parque de Alamillo, about 30 minutes bicycling from the center.
Places to visit with kids
All the places from the previous section can also be fun to visit with kids. Besides that, the following are some ideas for places to visit with your family.
– Casa de la Ciencia “is an open space for the popularisation of science and educational and cultural fun for everyone. “ The building used to be the Peruvian Pavilion of one for the two Universal Expositions the city had. The impressive all-touchable building is from 1929’s and recreates many animal figures. It’s usually fun and interesting for kids and adults. Among others, they have a permanent exhibition of cetaceous in Andalucía and a Planetarium. They also hold activities for kids all year around.

– Metrosol Parasol / Las Setas has an amazing view all around at very large walkaway. Open everyday from 10 am to 11 pm.
– Plaza de España is a great place to hang in a real life scenery used in Episode II of the Star Wars movies. Its also next to Parque de Maria Luisa where you can just enjoy its gardens or rent a bike for 4 a bike peacefully around the park.
– Monasterio de la Cartuja is an renovated old monastery that used to craft pottery and tiles and now it’s the Contemporary Art Center, with extensive orange trees gardens.
– Museum of Fine Arts, in Plaza de Museo. Second best collection in Spain, according to many, only after the Prado in Madrid. T-S 9 am to 8:30 pm SN 9 am to 3 pm.
– Pabellón de la Navegación is a permanent exhibition on navigation techniques and history. The beautiful building was designed for the Expo ’92.
3 Euros, closed regular Mondays. On the Isla de la Cartuja, on the right hand side when you cross El Cachorro bridge. You can also access to the area by the easy and cozy Pasarela de la Cartuja, the most slender bridge of the world according to Guinness’s book.
– Isla Mágica is a theme park also on the Isla de la Cartuja. Its theme is latin America in the 1500s with many water and dry rides. Open from June to Mid September aprox.
