What is the deposit and what is it for?
After several incidents involving guests that caused damage that was very difficult to repair and very costly, we have been forced to request a security deposit from all our guests, as various platforms did not cover us for this type of damage. This requires a lot of effort and time on our part, but it has significantly improved the care and respect shown by all travelers.
A security deposit is required for this accommodation. Regardless of how you pay for your reservation (Airbnb, Booking, Expedia, or direct booking), we require a security deposit that will be returned after your stay.
How can I pay the deposit?
- Through Airbnb – only for Airbnb guests (refunds may take up to 10 days).
- Option recommended. Through the Swikly service. This service allows you to make your security deposit online, without affecting your bank card limit and without charging or blocking funds on your card. Swikly will simply check that there are funds on your card. This solution has a management cost of €2.70 to €3.90 for our guests. We will send you the link in our resevation chat.
- With a credit card hold (as is done when renting a car). This can be done during reception hours from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. daily, either in person on the day of arrival or by telephone the day before on +34623208958 (also available via WhatsApp). This deposit is automatically refunded by the card issuer and may take 10 to 21 days for some international cards.
When will it be returned?
After your stay, our cleaning team will let us know if the rules have been followed, and if so, we will process the release of your deposit.
Please note that if you choose Swikly or credit card hold as your payment option, the money will never be withdrawn from your account. It is a temporary hold on your own account, so you will not see any negative withdrawal or positive refund transactions. In the case of Airbnb, if it is done through the platform, a withdrawal will be made and the money will be refunded later.
The refund time may vary depending on the service or bank, but it is usually between 7-14 days from the time of formalization.
What rules do I have to follow?
They are simple and basic, and can be found in our advertisements and in our rules section, as well as in the accommodation information books. They include:
- No smoking
- No noise during quiet hours
- No pets allowed
- No parties or gatherings (only registered users may stay in the flat)
- Respect the check-out time that is at 11 a.m.
Guests must be registered and cannot be additional guests without notifying the hosts. - Rubbish must be disposed of in the bins indicated on the map behind the door before your departure (Not necessary if the amount of trash has been minimal or the bag is not full).
- On the day of departure, the kitchen must be tidied and the dishes cleaned (you can use the dishwasher if your accommodation has it).
How much should I pay for the deposit?
It depends on the size of the accommodation; the larger it is, the higher the deposit will be. Prices usually range from 150 euros to 300 euros. You can check the amount by clicking on the Swikly link in our messages.
What could cause me to lose my deposit money?
Minor issues will not result in the loss of your security deposit or accidents.
Failure to comply with the rules, causing significant damage to the furniture or the community of neighbors, which are very exceptional and serious situations, may result in the partial or complete loss of the deposit amount.
If this is the case, we will notify you, providing evidence and discussing the situation. This rarely happens thanks to the deposit requirement, so you should not worry.
Can I pay the deposit in a way other than those three?
No, these are the most convenient and quickest options for both our guests and us. In exceptional cases, cash payments may be accepted during reception hours, but this means that the guest must return to reception once the accommodation has been checked and found to be in good condition.
This may take until 3:00 p.m. on the day of the guest’s departure, so you may not be available to collect the amount at that time at reception.
Credit or debit card?
Both are usually accepted, although debit cards can sometimes cause payment problems, so we recommend that you also have the credit option available.
Is it possible to access the accommodation without having paid the deposit?
No, for security reasons it is necessary to formalize it and we will not be authorized to check you in until this process has been completed. We therefore recommend that you complete it before your arrival to avoid having to wai
Is the Swikly app safe?
Swikly is a secure and legitimate platform for managing vacation rental security deposits, using the secure Mangopay payment processor, certified to high banking standards (PCI DSS). It does not store card details and does not block the card limit, but acts as a pre-authorization.
- Accepted Cards: Most credit and debit cards are accepted, mainly VISA and MasterCard.
- Non-Eligible Cards: Debit cards with systematic authorization (such as Visa Electron or Maestro) are often not accepted.
- No Funds Blocked: The main advantage is that the deposit amount does not reduce the customer’s card purchase limit.
- Process: The tenant receives a link, enters their card details, and, if there is damage, Swikly facilitates the deposit charge.
